Style Crush: Jess Hart
Jan 10Arguably one of Australia’s finest exports, Sydney-born supermodel Jessica Hart, was discovered at the age of just 15 when she won the Dolly magazine model search in 2000 (interestingly fellow Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr won the same competition in 1997). It was the big break that would see the gap-toothed beauty pursue a professional modelling career that has seen her star in advertising campaigns for the likes of Seafolly, Zimmermann, Sass & Bide, Victoria’s Secret and H&M. Jess has been no stranger to the catwalks either, walking for the likes of Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane, Matthew Williamson, Guess and Wayne Cooper.
It’s not just on the catwalk that Jess looks stunning, she has incredible personal style – its chic and laid back, with a whole heap of rock chick grunge thrown in for good measure. She is such a huge style crush of ours, we are constantly inspired by her, always keeping a close eye on what she is wearing – girly dresses, with chunky workman boots…yes please!
What do you guys think of Jess’s style? Who are some of your style icons?
Until next time…
Hair Tutorial: Beachy Waves
Jan 05You have you fab CactusRose threads, you have applied your make-up to perfection, but you have absolutely no idea what to do with your hair. Well my little lovelies in my experience you can’t go wrong with gorgeous beachy waves – a fairly simple look to achieve that works on all hair lengths (except for the buzz cut of course), is effortlessly chic and can stand up to even the most disheveling of weather.
Some of the world’s most stylish celebs are also a fan of the low maintenance look, making it a regular appearance on the red carpets and on the streets – a real versatile head turner!
Beachy Waves (L-R): Emma Stone, Jessica Biel and Jessica Chastain
We find videos are always easy to follow instead of trying to read instructions with a comb stuck in your hair, smoking hairdryer in one hand and a handful of mousse in the other. So instead we found a great tutorial on creating beachy waves by renowned UK hair stylist, John Freida on Youtube – who knew Youtube had videos on anything other than talking dogs?
Rock this look from the beach to the bar, just keep some sea salt spray handy – looking gorgeous!
Until next time ladies!

Trend Alert – It’s All White
Nov 30Winter was all about warming jewel tones, but for Spring/Summer 2012-2013 season, clean, crisp white is where it is at! Sharp, classic white was a key look of the Australian catwalks, with so many amazing designers heavily featuring the shade in their seasonal collections. White is definitely a colour to invest it, not only is it timeless, but it also has great trans-seasonal appeal with the hue remaining chic throughout Winter 2013. To keep the look bang on trend and super fresh, wearing white from head to toe is a must, so girls avoid the red wine and the Tommy K.
Bec & Bridge Spring/Summer 2012-2013
Watson x Watson Spring/Summer 2012-2013
A slightly off-white shade can look just as chic as Toni Maticevski shows.

If you aren’t comfortable wearing white from head to toe, keep the look clean by mixing with metallics like Bless’ed Are The Meek…
Bless’ed Are The Meek Spring/Summer 2012-2013
White is such a great wardrobe investment as a simple chance of accessories can change the whole look, different textures work so well together to give the ensemble depth and know shade looks better with a golden summer tan…am I right? So check out some of the gorgeous white pieces we have on offer here at CactusRose…
(L-R): Polka Dots – $69, Vintage Vogue – $39, Zipped Up – $59
Will you be rocking perfect white this season? Don’t forget to send us your picks of you wearing your favourite Cactusrose pieces to get featured on our blog.
Peace out girls!
